Maybe you know this trick and maybe you don't. You certainly can't always do it. To quickly cool a can of soda (we used to do this for beer at parties), immerse the can(s) in ice water. Some law of thermodynamics beyond my puny comprehension will chill them in minutes. Hope this helps. Signed Heloise :-)
Hey, there is a mythbusters episode about cooling down beer. I think a really effective way is to place cans in the bottom of cooler and blast a fire extinguisher at them. 70 - 38 degrees in 10 seconds......
